Milazzo, Sicily

Milazzo isn't the classic tourist town, one of the reasons I chose it. Lonely Planet rather rudely suggests the only reason to come here is to catch a ferry someplace else. However, it's small enough to recognise people, and for them to recognise you, especially if they want to sell you something. Yes, Milazzo does have rather a large refinery across the harbour, but at night it's as if you're looking at Manhatton with all the towers lit up! The port and harbour walk is on one side and the long, pebbly beach on the other, the best gelateria is only two minutes away- perfect!

  2. Don't tell anyone but I prefer a good flat white! Anyway, it's too hot for coffee so I'm indulging in granita- I'll post granita details later1
